Post Season Recap

Last weekend marked the end of the Tiger’s 2014 season.  While the reunions revelry was going on at Princeton, all four Tiger crews were racing for their respective championships.  The Open Women traveled to Indianapolis to compete in the NCAA championship.  The other three squads stayed a bit closer to home and raced the IRA regatta at Lake Mercer.

The IRA regatta went very well for the Tigers.  The PURA set up a shuttle service from reunions to the racecourse and it was great to have so much Tiger support on hand.  The highlight of the day was when the heavyweight 2V 8 shot out to an early lead in their grand final, only to come in second to Cal Berkley.  It was a very gutsy performance that was a nice rebound from the Eastern Sprints.

At the NCAA regatta, the Tiger Women finished 6th overall to cap a strong season.  Again, it was the Women’s 2V that had the strongest performance of the day.  Just like the Men’s 2V, the Women’s 2V turned in a redemptive performance, finishing second on the day to Ohio State.  The Tiger Varsity was also able to reverse their early season loss to Virginia by beating them to win their petite final.
