No. 8 Open Women Beat Pair Of Top 10 Opponents In Season Opener

Head coach Lori Dauphiny hoped the momentum of a strong 2009 postseason would translate when the eighth-ranked Princeton open women began their 2010 season. With a win in the Class of 1987 Oar Award regatta against a pair of Top 10 opponents, it seemed that there is still plenty of positive energy in Princeton.

Women's Lightweights Top MIT For Successful 2010 Season Opener

Both head coach Paul Rassam and co-captains Justine Hausheer and Lauren Sykora felt excited about the progress made by the Princeton women's lightweights during the offseason. Through one week, their optimism seems well-founded; Princeton topped both MIT and the Philadelphia University openweights to open the 2010 season.

Men's Lights Maintain Winning Ways In 2010 Debut At Navy

Even with a new season, a new head coach and several new rowers, the Princeton men's lightweight crew began its 2010 season with a distinctly similar feeling as it had in 2009. Princeton won The Joe Murtaugh Cup with a strong performance over Navy Saturday morning in Annapolis, Md.

Open Women Win, Retain 1987 Trophy; Lightweight Women Top Philadelphia University and MIT

The open women and light women followed up the success of the lightweights down at Navy earlier this morning with solid wins of their own.   In the open women's 1V race, Princeton pushed out to an early two seat lead over Brown and Ohio State.  By the line, they had stretched their lead out to a 2.6-second advantage over Brown and open over Ohio State.  This win keeps the 1987 trophy here at Princeton for another year.  Brown won the 2V, Ohio State won the 4+. In lightweight women's racing, Princeton put up a strong performance against MIT and Philadelphia University, winning the 1V by open water over Philadelphia and MIT.  Princeton won the 2V and Philadelphia won the novice/3V 4+.
