Time for Tampa!

After logging some good, hard work indoors over the last eight weeks, Princeton Rowing is finally ready to head to Tampa for our annual winter training trip.  This is the team's first trip to Tampa since 2008.  In 2009, the trip was moved to Austin, TX, and we returned to Austin in '10 and '11.  The squad is eager to return to the town that was a big part of the boathouse for so many years, beginning with the first "all-squads" training trip in 1980.

This year's trip will run from Saturday, January 28 to Saturday, February 4.  It's a big group that includes every athlete from all four teams, 11 coaches, a trainer, a video man, an administrator and our boatman.  All said, the group numbers 165 strong!  This year, we will start our trip a little differently than in year's past.  Due to Gasparilla, the normal training site will not be available when we first arrive, so the team will spend it's first day training out at Fort Desoto Park at the mouth of Tampa Bay on the Gulf of Mexico.  We will then head into Tampa proper to stay and train right from downtown.

This year, we will be travelling with our video man, Doug Myers.  We will be posting daily videos and photos from our training.  Be sure to check back regularly to see what is new!
